Fallen Akron Police Officer Justin R. Winebrenner gave his life confronting a gunman while attending a fundraiser for a youth football league.
Even though he was off duty, he and another off duty officer sprung into action when alerted to a man brandishing a gun at employees and patrons of the pub.
Justin was shot in the chest sacrificing his life for the safety of others. Justin’s fellow officer along with 3 others were also hit and are recovering.
We will be honoring Officer Winebrenner with a Tribute Police Car Rocker for his 4 year old daughter Charlee.
The coming months will be a celebration of Justin’s life and service to his community. The “Crime Dawg” as he was known to by many, has risked his life before by pulling a man out of a burning car only seconds before it exploded.
